From Our Home To Yours: 50 Years of Andrew Ryan

A Word From Our Founder

“It all began with a simple notion: to furnish our own home. Back in 1973, we weren’t trying to build a company; we were trying to build a home. We wanted furniture with integrity, pieces that would hold the stories of our family for years to come. That simple desire, to craft something true and lasting, is still the heartbeat of everything we do.

To see that same spirit be carried forward by another generation and in so many homes across Ireland… well, that’s more than we ever could have imagined.”

- Andrew Ryan, Founder -

In this video, Dominic opens up about how we work –  honouring those founding principles of proper craftsmanship by blending traditional skills with the sharpest modern technology. It’s about a team that’s seen it all and knows exactly how to bring your vision to life: seamlessly, successfully, and with the care it deserves.

50 Years in the Making

50 years is a quiet evolution: we’ve grown from a small Gorey workshop to a specialist custom-built factory, passing a father’s vision to his sons. We’ve embraced new tech, but our principles haven’t budged – this timeline tracks the milestones, but the real story is found in the homes we’ve finished.

1973

Where It All Started

Andrew and Elizabeth Ryan were out hunting for furniture for their own place and couldn’t find anything that matched their discerning standards. Instead of settling, they set up a modest workshop in Gorey, Co. Wexford – built on a simple obsession: doing things right and making things that last.

A New Home for a Growing Craft

Ireland started noticing what we were up to, and the orders kept on coming. To keep up, we opened our first purpose-built factory right in the heart of Gorey.

The Next Generation

The next generation stepped up when sons Aiden and Dominic Ryan joined the company. They brought a fresh burst of energy and pushed us beyond just kitchens, taking our cabinetry expertise into every corner of the home: bedrooms, studies, and utilities.

Honouring Tradition with Technology

We enhanced our traditional cabinet-making skills by investing in modern CNC machinery. It’s all about the perfect balance: handcrafted quality and technical precision.

Bringing Visions to Life

We use advanced rendering to create a detailed 3D perspective of your space, removing the need for guesswork. This allows you to virtually explore every detail and refine the design before we’ve even made the first cut into the timber – guaranteeing the final result is exactly as you imagined it.

Factory Expansion to Support Demand

To meet growing demand, we doubled the footprint of our specialist factory. This expansion ensures our craftsmen have the space to maintain the high standards our philosophy requires – crafting every piece of cabinetry with the finer details that have defined us since 1973.
