Recesses in period properties often present an architectural challenge, particularly when creating a welcoming environment for guests. Without compromising the room’s original proportions, our goal was to create a calm space and provide essential storage for visitors.
We designed a bespoke, built-in wardrobe that echos the room’s classical lines. By opting for floor-to-ceiling joinery, we maximised the storage potential of this space while maintaining a streamlined profile that doesn’t overwhelm the room.
We packed a lot in: hanging space, an integrated door mirror, and handcrafted oak drawers. It eliminates the need for a separate chest, keeping the guest bedroom clutter-free.
We kept the exterior respectful, finished in a soft, off-white, with a substantial cornice designed to look as though it has been there since the house was built. These refined touches transform the room into a tranquil and highly considered guest suite.
