The Brief

The clients asked for ‘Hollywood Industrial’. They wanted a space that felt moody, atmospheric, and built for serious entertaining. Think private members’ club, but comfortable enough to actually live in.

Dual Functionality

The main kitchen looks pristine because it’s allowed to be. We hid a fully stainless steel commercial prep kitchen behind the main cabinetry. It means you can sear steaks in the back, while the open-plan lounge stays looking perfect (and smelling of Jo Malone candles).

The Details

The island is sexy. It seats ten people and is clad in XTONE Orobico Dark. The veins are pattern-matched across the stone to ensure the join is virtually invisible. If you’re going to do stone, you have to do it right.

The Flooring

To keep things seamless, the client opted for a poured resin floor. With zero grout lines to break the eye – the heavy, dark cabinetry looks like it’s floating on air.

The Finished Kitchen

This is a masterclass in mood. With ‘Wall Art’ TVs and a Jack-and-Jill fireplace, it feels more like a suite in a luxury boutique hotel than a residential kitchen.

FAQs For This Kitchen Project

How would you describe the design aesthetic for this project?

The brief was ‘Hollywood Industrial’ – a high-drama, luxury aesthetic that balances raw, structural elements with polished sophistication. We achieved this through a striking contrast of deep Off-Black cabinetry against the rich, organic warmth of natural oak interiors. The space is anchored by an oversized waterfall island in Stone Orobico Dark, which introduces a dramatic, marble-veined movement that feels both grand and contemporary.

At the heart of the hosting space is a bespoke bar, featuring open shelving with polished brass gallery rails and a striking stone backsplash. This is paired with a natural oak drinks cabinet with internal glass racks and spirit storage, sitting alongside an integrated Miele wine conditioner. By grouping these elements, we created a dedicated ‘theatre of hosting’ that keeps everything from fine vintages to cocktail essentials beautifully organised and within reach for guests.

The palette is a masterclass in texture. We paired matte Off-Black cabinetry with the high-shine of polished brass hardware to create a sophisticated, high-contrast aesthetic. For the surfaces, we used a combination of XTONE Orobico Dark on the waterfall island for maximum dramatic impact and Bodega Acero for a sleek, industrial-toned perimeter. This mix of veined stone and warm metal, combined with the structural black window frames, ensures the space feels both cinematic and incredibly durable.

Behind a discreet sliding door lies a full professional-grade prep kitchen, designed to handle the heavy-duty demands of large-scale catering. This secondary workspace allows the main kitchen to maintain its clean Hollywood aesthetic, entirely free from the clutter of active food preparation. It offers a high-performance sanctuary where efficiency is the priority, meaning the primary living area remains a sophisticated, social atmosphere, even during the busiest events.
